Tenerife

This region enjoys many hours of sunshine during the year. This results in some outstanding full-bodied white wines. It also produces some red and rosé wines among others. There are almost 20 wineries that cultivate 2000 hectares in this region. One of the unique features of this area is that some of the vines are located at altitudes of more than 1500 metres which make them the highest vines in Spain. The designation of origin of Abona is the most recent of the five to be established in Tenerife.
