Arona is one of the most important tourist areas in the island. It has three coastal zones and an interesting and wonderful rural nucleus: Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos, Costa del Selencio / Las Galletas and Rural Arona make up an ideal municipal for those looking for a wide variety of attractions.
Playa de las Americas is a dream place for sun and sea all year round, where you can spend a peaceful day on the beach or enjoy a diverse range of water sports or other land based leisure activities.
Los Cristianos is a coastal fishing village, which has conserved its original characteristics. From Los Crisitanos port, there are numerous maritime conections to neighbouring islands. The port is home to the largest mural in the world, which features in the Book of Guiness Records measuring 4800 square metres, depicting the theme of the protection of whales with the slogan “Los Cristianos – Port of Nature”.
Costa del Silencio invites you to get to know its peaceful corners, inlets, beautiful seabed of Punta de Rasca, a nature reserve for whales, a real treaure that scuba divers must experience and also Malpais de Rasca, which is a protected natural area. Las Galletas is a small fishing village that has maintained its customs and fishing traditions.
Venturing inland within the municipal of Arona, you will find a rural area of huge interest, Rural Arona, where there are a series of important and interesting footpaths and ideal scenery and landscape to take part in outdoor sports.
In Arona there is a superb and diverse choice of sports, with two golf courses, 5 football pitches (two of which are grass), an Olympic size swimming pool, an athletic track and multi sport zone.
