San Miguel de Abona has always been characterised for being a municipality of contrasts, with numerous different places.
The visitor has many options to choose from: sampling local produce, tours of the streets of the old town, where the traveller will discover an austere but singular group of historical and artistic features,
as well as the chance to have a round of golf or to practise an endless selection of marine leisure activities – all this while being welcomed by the friendliness of the locals.
From the higher parts of the municipality we may observe a land pock-marked by volcanic cones, which provide the scenery with a certain complexity. Long and deep ravines stretch from the peaks down to the municipality´s short coastline, which features low undeveloped cliffs and small beaches of pebbles and black sand.
An exceptional marina has been recently inaugurated at the far end of the coastline. The marina and the golf courses are some of the main features of San Miguel de Abona, where leisure and sport are in direct contact with nature.
