Tenerife

The tourist resort of Playa de los Cristianos, in the south of the island, holds its own carnival. It is a lively fiesta with a busy schedule of events which attracts local people and visitors alike. Here they also elect a queen in a spectacular gala that marks the beginning of the carnival. One of the important features of this carnival and of others in the area is that it takes place after the Santa Cruz and Puerto de la Cruz carnivals.
