CDO was founded in 1989 by Álvaro Moscoso Díaz and Remedios Rovira Aragón under the name of the Puerto de la Cruz Tennis Club. It stands out because it is not necessary to be a member in order to enjoy all the facilities, which are open to everybody without membership fees or other obligations.
Although the Club has always specialised in tennis - with four courts and one of the most important tennis schools in the Canaries -, over the last few years the options have increased with five glass-walled padel courts and a football field, all of which have artificial turf.
The gym specialises in classes with instructors, among which Pilates stands out as the most popular. There is also a cafeteria-restaurant with spectacular views of Mount Teide, a hairdresser and beauty centre, massages and sauna to complete the magnificent facilities of CDO Puerto de la Cruz.
