Tenerife is a great island for all kinds of sporting events. From tough mountain trails to triathlons which will test all your physical abilities. Recently we have experienced three big events: Tenerife Walking Festival, Las Américas Pro and Tenerife Bluetrail, although there are still big events to be held. Let’s review what we have lived through and what is to come.

Tenerife Walking Festival 2018

Tenerife Walking Festival is the ideal international hiking event if you want to enjoy the landscapes of the island in a more tranquil way. Almost 200 hikers of 14 nationalities came together this year in Puerto de la Cruz. The coastal city in the north of Tenerife served as a base camp to explore the 20 trails of the festival.

Evento Senderismo Tenerife

Hiking trails through volcanic, coastal and forest landscapes made it possible to get to know Tenerife in a unique way. In addition, numerous conferences and activities were offered. One of the highlights of the event was the farewell party at the Plaza de Europa with music and local cuisine.

TWF Senderismo Tenerife

If you missed this issue, don’t worry. The Tenerife Walking Festival will be held again in 2019, probably in May, and again hiking enthusiasts from all over the world will come together to get to know the landscape, the contrasts and the culture of our island.

During five days, competitions were held with surfers from around the world at the most famous surf spot of the island “La izquierda de Las Palmeras”. The Basque Ruben Vitoria and the Australian Mikaela Greene were among the victories. Even in Siam Park, a small sample of their surfing skills was given on the world’s largest artificial wave.
