Feel the rush of adrenaline in Tenerife

Sporting events on the island, the finishing touch to 2023

Feel the speed in your veins, the intensity of each pedal and the energy of each step. Nature areas in Tenerife offer the perfect combination to enjoy stunning routes while adrenaline flows through your entire body. Specifically, the island has various sporting tests prepared for you from now to the end of the year, where you can bring out your surfing side as well as your most active and fittest sides. Can we also bring out the ‘beast’ in you?

Santa Cruz de Tenerife Marathon | 12 November

Avenida Marítima takes centre stage in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Marathon, both the starting and finishing line, close to Naviera Armas Station, for those runners that turn up every year to challenge themselves.

Organised in three different distances that start with the 8km race, through to the half marathon and then to the main event – the marathon – a race that winds through the streets of the island’s capital without losing sight of the sea and with an almost entirely flat course. This could be a good stage to kick off your journey in the world of road racing to achieve the time you have always dreamed of.

If you want to take part, you can register on the website until 5 November.

Trail Santa Cruz Extreme | 17-18 November

With different distances, the ANAGA XTRM races are held on a mountain course in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, with different events to take part in: if you want a demanding test, the 60km race is the one for you, which you must prepare for as the course demands this. If not, you can opt for the 33km, 18km or 10km races. But that’s not all: the race also has a vertical option, with a climb of more than 500 steps that will envelop you in history with each step.

Organising sport for everyone is a crucial aim nowadays. Trail Santa Cruz Extreme has taken on the baton from many associations which, for years now, have contributed, through their hard work, to ensure that many people with disabilities can visit the mountains, transmitting values and solidarity through sporting competitions in their Jöelette category.

The event has recently obtained the environmental quality certification “Green CXM Trail FEDME” in its 19km category, based on the Guide to Good Practices for Holding Mountain Races in Protected Natural Areas.

Register before 10 November and pull out your most extreme side!

DEKA | 18 November

The most novel fitness competition in the world takes place in the south of the island of Tenerife, combining functional exercises with race stretches interspersed between each fitness zone, shaping an innovative sporting event focused on health, fitness and fun that all fits into a single day.

You can choose between different individual formats: DEKA Fit, with functional exercise stations and 500m race stretches (5km in total); DEKA Mile, in which the intervals are 160m (1.6km in total), and DEKA Strong, which only involves functional exercises. You can also compete with your training partner in DEKA Teams – a team competition with two people instead of one, in a relay format.

DEKA Trifecta will be held on 18 November at the Tenerife Top Training facilities in Adeje, from 7am to 8pm. Why are you waiting to be part of this experience?

Giro d’Italia | 18-19 November

Do you want to feel the magic of the Giro de Italia? Tenerife will once again host the cycle race Giro D’Italia Ride Like a Pro, and you can take part in it. Following the successful first edition last year, in which 700 cyclists, of 11 nationalities, took part, the event returns this year on 18 and 19 November, which has nothing to envy from the original Italian race.

The event is a genuine cycling festival with all the ingredients that a cycling race could wish for, with spectacular courses, exciting moments both before and after the race, the majestic Senza Fine trophy and the chance to build up strength at the singular Pasta Party on each stage, clearly influenced by Italian cuisine… There are also complementary activities aside from the race itself, such as the innovative Pink Party, including the presence of renowned professional cyclists.

Sign up and you can also experience the Giro in Tenerife!

The sporting event Tenerife Spartan Trifecta Weekend guarantees you a fun adventure along incredible trails, full of obstacles and with a Canarian essence in all its paths and landscapes, with its abrupt terrain, volcanic landscapes, saltpetre and nature.

Spartans compete in different races over the same weekend, from the Sprint category (5km) and the Super category (10km) to the Beast (half marathon), adapted for different levels and challenges. Kids can also enjoy this experience, with their own event – the fun Spartan Kids race.

The race, which gathered together more than 2,700 participants from all over the world in its previous edition, will be held on 25 and 26 November, with the offer of the Trifecta medal in the Spartan Race.

The participants in the competition may take part in the final of the National Open Circuits, the Euromaster, the Lightning Bolt or the EuroKids, focused on young surfers, all of which have their own categories. Surfest Las Américas Pro is organised thanks to the joint work of the event organisers – the European Surfing Federation, the Spanish Surfing Federation and the Canary Islands Surfing Federation.

The next edition will take place from 25 November to 8 December at Playa de Las Américas and will bring together sport, culture, social activism and environmental protection over two weeks. Shall we surf the waves in paradise?
