Plan for any day in Tenerife : get together a group of friends and enjoy Mount Teide National Park<\/a>. The seven of us , wanted to walk but also see Tajinastes (Tower of Jewels<\/a>) blossom, so instead of getting there on \u00a0our own, we decided to hire a guide and avoid walking without specific direction and enjoy explanations about \u00a0flora, fauna, \u00a0legends…. Our guide: F\u00e9lix de la Rosa from \u00a0Oditen\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

Felix picked up us with his car \u00a0in La Laguna and at \u00a008.15 h already we were on our \u00a0way to\u00a0 Teide National Park<\/strong>, making a brief stop for a coffee.<\/p>\n

Enjoying the sea of clouds as we were getting closer\u00a0to the Parador Nacional del Teide<\/a>, our starting point , Felix was answering our doubts and questions about our circular medium – high difficulty, whose duration was\u00a0estimated in \u00a05 hours (as I was not very fit, it took \u00a0me at least one extra hour)<\/p>\n

Once in our starting point, we\u00a0\u00a0commented \u00a0the circular route from Mount Teide Parador<\/strong> \u00a0with the following\u00a0map we had previously received, along with information by e mail.<\/p>\n

The heigh difference of this circular route is 500 m, \u00a0from 2200m to 2700m. In the first part, our \u00a0ascension, we\u00a0enjoyed the Tajinastes that dotted the landscape in \u00a0red and whose bloom, \u00a0Felix said , that \u00a0takes a process of a month and a half, but whose peak only lasts for two weeks .Quite a visual spectacle that is one more excuse to go up to Mount \u00a0Teide Park with a guide.<\/p>\n

We went through the Canada del Capricho<\/strong>, one of the areas where climbing is permitted in the National Park, with their gorgeous white and red\u00a0shades, full of curious holes that should fascinate climbers.<\/p>\n

We continued walking up through\u00a0Degollada de Guajara<\/strong>, stopping us to enjoy a grey Chaffinch<\/strong> singing, which seemed to be there waiting for us to attend to its concert\u00a0\u00a0and that instead of flying,it sang for us. Amazing!<\/p>\n

We finally finished our ascent at a point from which the views of \u00a0LLano de Ucanca<\/strong> with Mount Teide just in \u00a0frontof us, \u00a0widely\u00a0compensated the effort.<\/p>\n

We made a break in where, long time ago, it had been refuge for goat herders, which also served in the 19th century as a place for astronomical observation and where you can find a box with agendas that are used \u00a0as \u00a0guestbooks. Among others, Ra\u00fal Socorro, from Cio Sport & Travel<\/a> also left evidence of his visit.<\/p>\n

After listening to \u00a0the legend of Guajara, we began to descend by the Ucanca Valley, but not before a last look to \u00a0a panoramic view of Llano de Ucanca.<\/p>\n

During the \u00a0descent it was almost \u00a0when I\u00a0more valued having a guide by me. While the \u00a0way up\u00a0\u00a0was also busy and well signposted, the descent required much more attention, though \u00a0I don’t \u00a0suffer from vertigo, easy \u00a0was to\u00a0\u00a0slip or give a stumble in a soil of sand or with a lot of stones, but that surprised us with a Mount Teide violet.<\/p>\n

And so we kept \u00a0walking back to Parador, \u00a0always supervised by Felix . Done! … Although I \u00a0was\u00a0the last arriving.<\/p>\n

No, here does not end our day. Felix took us by Vilaflor to the Midlands area of Adeje to eat in a guachinche, El Dornajo in Ifonche. \u20ac15 per person (not included in the activity) with escald\u00f3n, rabbit, potatoes, wine, beer and water in plentiful quantities.<\/p>\n

We returned to La Lafuna from \u00a0the South, tired but immensely happy after a fab day.<\/p>\n
