The film was shot in Tenerife for three weeks.

Tenerife is showing signs of how attractive it is as a film location. So far this year seven feature films have been shot on the island, six of which are Spanish productions, a record-breaker in the statistics of Tenerife Film Commission, a department of Tenerife Tourism Corporation, in charge of fostering film productions and promoting the Island as a film location.

The films shot this year in Tenerife include ‘Nobody wants the night’, by the acclaimed Isabel Coixet, ‘Ma Ma’, by Julio Medem and ‘Felices 140’, by Gracia Querejeta. Other remarkable films –shot early in the year- are ‘Don’t grow up’ and ‘Tiempo sin aire’.

Thanks to these shootings national and international film stars like award-winning Juliette Binoche, Penélope Cruz, Luis Tosar, Maribel Verdú or Japanese Rinko Kikuchi –known for her roles in ‘Tokio Blues’ (2010) or ‘Pacific Rim’ (2013)- have been to the Island and have had the chance to see its great potential as a film set for many different types of productions, as a wide range of locations are all within easy reach.

Not only films are shot on the Island but other types of productions have also made the most of this natural film set, as for example Italian TV programme ‘Calzedonia Watergirls’ or the commercial for Audi International in which local company Volcano Films took part. In addition, there have been many photo shoots, documentaries and commercials which have also chosen Tenerife as a location.

The reasons why more and more companies choose Tenerife for their productions include its many different landscapes, its 23º average yearly temperature, the range of accommodation available and the solid expert support offered to foreign production companies. In addition, the Canaries enjoy a very “attractive” tax regime as opposed to that applicable to the rest of Spain. This is due to the geographical distance from mainland Spain and it is one of its strong points to attract film shootings.

At Tenerife Film Commission we expect to be welcoming all kind of productions in the near future and make of Tenerife –more so if possible- a star film destination.

[44
349
post-1705","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-news","tag-film
["GET
