The Island welcomed 88 productions in 2015, 20 more than the previous year<\/p>\n

Last year Tenerife welcomed 88 productions, 10 of which were feature films (two more than in 2014), including \u201cJason Bourne\u201d, <\/i>with star Matt Damon in the leading role; and \u201cProject Lazarus\u201d, by Canaries director Mateo Gil. In addition to its qualities as a film location, Tenerife also offers post-production services through its HPC-Teide supercomputer, the second most powerful in Spain which is already being used for animation, as in for example \u201cCapture the flag\u201d last year.<\/p>\n

Apart from films, in 2015 there were photo shoots (21), commercials (21) and TV programmes (16), including one of the episodes of the BBC \u201cDr. Who\u201d series, <\/i>TV programmes \u201cMasterchef\u201d, \u201cMasterchef Junior\u201d and \u201cVolando Voy\u201d \u2014hosted by popular\u00a0 presenter Jes\u00fas Calleja\u2014 or commercials for brands like Adolfo Dom\u00ednguez, Suzuki, Iberia or Lamborghini.\u00a0 By country of origin, most production companies were from Germany (24), Spain (22) and the UK (16). Overall, in 2015 there were 525 shooting days and TFC answered a total of 212 requests.<\/p>\n

From 2000, the Island has hosted 1,126 film productions. The best-known titles in these 15 years are \u201cClash of the Titans\u201d and \u201cWrath of the Titans\u201d (2010-2011, USA), \u201cUna hora menos en Canarias\u201d (2010, Spain), \u201cFast and Furious 6\u201d (2013, USA), \u201cNadie quiere la noche\u201d <\/i>or \u201c<\/i>Felices 140, <\/i>which are both Spanish productions shot in 2014.<\/p>\n

Coming in 2016 <\/b><\/p>\n

Several productions have chosen to shoot on the Island this year including:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cOro\u201d, by director Agust\u00edn D\u00edaz Yanes starring Ra\u00fal Ar\u00e9valo, \u00d3scar Jaenada and Jos\u00e9 Coronado and the special appearance of Juan Diego. Based on a short story by best-selling author Arturo P\u00e9rez-Reverte, it is the story of the expedition of 16th Century Spanish conquerors Lope de Aguirre and N\u00fa\u00f1ez de Balboa who ventured into the Amazon jungle in search of a mythical city that was believed to be built of gold. It is a co-production of Apache Films, Atresmedia Cine, Telef\u00f3nica Studios and Sony Pictures Spain.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cEn zona hostil\u201d. Directed by Adolfo Mart\u00ednez, the cast includes Ariadna Gil, Roberto \u00c1lamo, Antonio Garrido, Ra\u00fal M\u00e9rida, Marian Hern\u00e1ndez and Ruth Gabriel. It is based on real events which happened to Spanish troops deployed in Afghanistan. It is produced by Tornasol Films, Hern\u00e1ndez y Fern\u00e1ndez P.C., and Castafiore Films.<\/p>\n
