The first image that comes to our minds when we think of Tenerife is Mount Teide, the sun and of course the intense blue sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Indeed, Tenerife is a holiday destination with brilliant beaches surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. We think of unspoilt landscapes with black lava sand<\/a>. By the way, the black colour is due to the minerals such as basalt.<\/span><\/p>\n

Tenerife is the perfect place to escape the cold winter, to feel the warmth of the sun on our skin and enjoy the sea breeze. Undoubtedly a luxury destination that will delight those holidaymakers who want to soak up the sun and refill their vitamin D storage.<\/span><\/p>\n

The island is pleased by a privileged climate. The winter temperatures can easily reach 24\u00ba, enough for a day at the beach. We invite you on a little tour to some of these beautiful beaches with exotic volcanic sand.<\/span><\/p>\n

Las Gaviotas<\/span><\/h2>\n

The beach Las Gaviotas<\/a>, which is located near the capital Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is not only ideal for sunbathing, but also for enjoying nature – definitely worth a visit.<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s easy to get there by car. You first go to San Andr\u00e9s and then to Igueste de San Andr\u00e9s. As the beach is very accessible, it is also suitable for children.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Socorro<\/span><\/h2>\n

The beach in Los Realejos<\/a>, a municipality in the north of Tenerife, is the perfect beach for surfers who want to conquer the sea all day long.<\/span><\/p>\n

This black lava-sand beach offers an unbeatable view of the rugged coastline of Tenerife north. Our insider tip are the beautiful sunsets which can be seen from here.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, it is easy to reach, its waters have a good quality and sanitary facilities are available. Therefore, the Socorro has also been awarded with the Blue Flag<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Punta Larga<\/span><\/h2>\n

The beach Punta Larga is made of black sand and stones, its waters are clear and calm. Additionally, it has a great beach promenade that leads to Candelaria along the coast. Restaurants, shops and ice cream parlors invite for a long walk with small breaks.<\/span><\/p>\n

You can sunbathe in one of the three bays that form the beach of Las Caletillas, or linger on the small floating woody islands.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alm\u00e1ciga<\/span><\/h2>\n

To get to these beaches, take the road from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to Taganana. They are a bit far from the capital, but definitely worth a visit. First you come to the beach El Roque de las Bodegas with the rock formations of Anaga. It’s black, dark lava-sand is unprecedented. After the beach El Roque de las Bodegas you reach the beach of Alm\u00e1ciga<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a beach for nature fans and surfer lovers. The landscape of Anaga is a jewel still to be discovered; untouched wild nature.<\/span><\/p>\n

Playa Jardin<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Playa Jard\u00edn complex<\/a>, consisting of the beaches Playa Jard\u00edn, Playa Chica and Punta Brava, is one of the most emblematic places of Puerto de la Cruz and of the island Tenerife.<\/span><\/p>\n

Playa Jard\u00edn was designed by the great artist C\u00e9sar Manrique.<\/span><\/p>\n

A garden landscape with exotic plant species, waterfalls and stone caves framed by the La Orotava Valley and sometimes event Mount Teide can be seen in the background. In addition, this unique black lava beach is right next to the world-famous Loro Parque. The three beaches also are awarded with the Blue Flag.<\/span><\/p>\n

El Bollullo<\/span><\/h2>\n

The Bollullo beach<\/a>, in the municipality La Orotava, is an unspoilt natural beach that captivates us with its wild charm, the black sand and volcanic formations. It is the perfect place to recover from our hectic life. Due to its strong swell, it is popular for surfing, but beach guests should enjoy it with caution; pay attention to the flag!<\/span><\/p>\n

Playa de El Medano<\/span><\/h2>\n

El M\u00e9dano<\/a> is one of the most beautiful beaches in the south of Tenerife and is located in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona. This beach is characterised by the beauty of the fine, gray sand and the majestic view of the volcanic cone Monta\u00f1a Roja, which is the closest to the city and especially suitable for families.<\/span><\/p>\n

The area furthest from the town is ideal for windsurfing<\/a> and kitesurfing<\/a>. This beach usually hosts world-renowned championships such as the windsurfing and kitesurfing World Cups.<\/span><\/p>\n

Playa de Ajabo<\/span><\/h2>\n

This beach<\/a> has recently been prepared for swimming. The black sand and the volcanic rock gardens form an interesting contrast with the sea.
