Beaches for sports enthusiasts<\/span><\/h2>\n

We recently released Tenerife’s “Sports Calendar” for 2019<\/span><\/a>, with many events for every taste and discipline, some even on beaches like El Medano or Las Americas!<\/span><\/p>\n

El M\u00e9dano, the favourite beach for windsurfing<\/span><\/h3>\n

On this famous beach in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, the World PWA Windsurfing Championship will be held. Last year participated more than 70 professionals<\/span><\/a>. If you love windsurfing then El M\u00e9dano<\/span><\/a> is your place to go. It is one of the most colourful and peculiar landscapes in the south of Tenerife.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Playa de Las Am\u00e9ricas\"Playa<\/a><\/h3>\n

Perhaps the best known place for water sports lovers is the “Izquierda de la Palmera”. It’s one of the island’s famous waves, therefore the Las Americas Pro attracts professional surfers from around the world to attend the WSL World Surf League event in February. Some interesting beaches you can find in this area are El Camis\u00f3n beach<\/span><\/a> and Las Vistas beach<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Family beaches<\/span><\/h2>\n

For a child there is nothing better than spending a great day on the beach. Building sand castles, playing ball games or just swimming in the sea turn a simple day in the sun into an oasis of fun. In Tenerife, there is a big variety of family beaches<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Playa de La Pinta<\/h3>\n

With a calm swell thanks to its breakwater and a wide range of activities (inflatable trampoline castles in the water, jet skiing, diving …), La Pinta beach<\/span><\/a> is one of the most popular beaches to enjoy with the family in the south of Tenerife. Beach Playa de Las Teresitas<\/h3>\n

One of the favourite beaches for locals and tourists alike is undoubtedly the beach Las Teresitas<\/span><\/a>. There is hardly any waves on the main beach and its size invites to enjoy long walks with the family. You can even rent a boat and enjoy the beach from the water.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beaches for hiking<\/span><\/h2>\n

If you would like to explore the natural trails of Tenerife (or even participate in the Tenerife Walking Festival<\/span><\/a>), then many hiking trails have a refreshing reward for the sweaty effort: a natural beach.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Playa de Antequera<\/h3>\n

This beach<\/span><\/a> can only be reached via a difficult path<\/span><\/a> starting from the hostel Albergue de Montes de Anaga or by boat in a trip of almost an hour from Santa Cruz. Its clear and calm waters, in harmony with the imposing rock of Antequera, offering impressive views that are a real treat after the strenuous walk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Playa de Los Roques<\/h3>\n

At the end of the path of Rambla de Castro (easier than the previous one of Antequera) you reach this curious stone beach: the beach Los Roques<\/span><\/a>. If you are a lover of photography, then you should not miss the sunset, very impressive!<\/span><\/p>\n

Beaches to relax<\/span><\/h2>\n

Sometimes we just need rest and relaxation, we have to escape the hustle and bustle of the big cities and just take refuge in a natural sanctuary, only accompanied by the sound of the sea.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Playa de Benijo<\/h3>\n

Playa Benijo is possibly the most photogenic beach in Tenerife<\/span><\/a>. You have to see this fantastic colour spectacle of the sunset, how well it harmonises with the famous rocks. This sight is a true stress killer.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Playa de El Bollullo<\/h3>\n

This small beach in La Orotava<\/span><\/a> is located in one of the quietest corners in the north of Tenerife. Only 200 metres wide, it is a perfect retreat, where you will change the noise of the city by the sound of the sea.<\/span><\/p>\n
