Savour every bite, every sip, and let yourself be carried away by its wide culinary offer, which currently includes several restaurants recognised with Michelin stars.

The island has a number of establishments that have received awards for their culinary excellence. These restaurants offer exquisite dishes, and they provide a unique experience that combines local tradition with innovative techniques. The chefs of Tenerife are serious about using only fresh, high-quality ingredients, many of which come from the island itself. The resulting menus surprise and delight diners.

Among the featured restaurants are some that have maintained their Michelin stars for multiple years, strengthening their positions as leaders in the island’s cooking scene. Visiting these establishments is an invitation to discover new flavours and enjoy a cuisine that reflects the natural and cultural wealth of Tenerife.

Reviewing the stars

Starting from the south of Tenerife, several of these well-known restaurants have held multiple Michelin stars for years, such as the restaurant Martín Berasategui, located in the Ritz-Carlton Tenerife, Abama (Guía de Isora). With chef Erlantz Gorostiza at the helm, this restaurant currently holds two of these distinguished culinary awards, out of ten on the island. Along the same lines, the Rincón de Juan Carlos, headed by the brothers Juan Carlos and Jonathan Padrón and located at the Royal Hideaway Corales Beach Adeje, also holds two stars. Additionally, this hotel is home to the Michelin star of San-Hô, a restaurant where the combination of Peruvian, Japanese and Canarian cuisine takes centre stage, according to the vision of chefs Adrián Bosch and Eduardo Dominguez.

Additionally, the town of Adeje can also boast the star of the fusion cuisine from chefs Fernanda Fuentes-Cárdenas and Andrea Bernardi at the restaurant Nub, located at the fabulous Hotel Bahía del Duque.

If we turn our gaze to Arona, and specifically at the Hotel Villa Cortés, we will find Taste 1973, an establishment that won the distinction in 2023 and that combines flavours, technique and history in each of the creations of its chef Diego Schattenhofer. That same year, and in the northern town of La Orotava, the Haydée restaurant proudly hung a star on its door. This restaurant stands out for its kitchen led by Víctor Suárez and its two menus, Atlántico and Raíz, through which Asian and Peruvian textures and aromas are brought together.

The island shines even brighter with two new stars: Il Bocconcino and Donaire

Recently, Tenerife has welcomed two new additions to its growing list of Michelin star restuarants: Il Bocconcino and Donaire. Il Bocconcino, located in the renowned Royal Hideaway Corales Resort 5* in Costa Adeje, stands out for its focus on Italian cuisine and for offering a culinary experience that combines the authenticity of Mediterranean flavours with a modern twist. On the other hand, Donaire, founded by Grupo Fedola in Costa Adeje, is characterised by its reinterpretation of Canarian cuisine. Donaire’s dishes pay tribute to local tradition while presenting food in a modern format.

This is the first Michelin star for each restaurant. They represent the evolution and diversity of Tenerife’s gastronomic offer, inviting guests to explore and enjoy the delicacies that the island has to offer.

Il Bocconcino shows the creativity of chef Niki Pavanelli through two menus, ‘Identidad’ and ‘Il Bocconcino’, which reinterpret Italian cuisine with local products. Born in Bologna, his personality comes through in dishes such as the innovative Carbonara 3.0 and the dessert La Scarpetta, both of which are creations that evoke memories and traditional Italian techniques, while offering a unique culinary experience.

Donaire is a charming restaurant in the GF Victoria Hotel, known for its semicircular glass-enclosed dining room with views of the Costa Adeje coastline and the ocean.
