This exhibition’s artistic content focuses on creations from towns and cities in equatorial and tropical Africa, from the Atlantic to the Indian oceans and taking in countries such as Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Angola, Ethiopia, Chad and South Africa. The more than 350 pieces on display include ceremonial figures and symbols of power, anthropomorphic figures, ritual masks, symbolic and funereal representations, and maternities, all reflecting the complex symbolic and plastic language of the aforementioned countries.
