La Esperanza Country Fair

On the first Sunday in August every year, the town of El Rosario holds its big country fair as part of its festivities in honour of its patron saint, Our Lady of Hope. The revered image of the Virgin is taken on a procession to the town hall square and presides over the parade from under a floral arch, where she receives offerings from folk groups, ox-drawn carts and worshippers.
