In the context of the 36th International Music Festival of the Canary Islands (FIMC), the Danish National Symphony Orchestra will be performing two days in a row. Their second performance will be on 31 January, when they will play, alongside British clarinettist Mark Simpson, Carl Nielsen’s Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra. The concert will begin with Niels Gade’s In the Highlands overture, coming to a close with Schubert’s Symphony No. 9 in C major. The orchestra will be conducted by Spanish maestro Juanjo Mena.
