05 February 2023

A series of films will be screened at the Tenerife Arts Space (TEA), including the first three adaptations of Gulliver’s Travels, the famous satirical novel written by Jonathan Swift and published in 1726. The screenings are part of El videoclub, a programme that encourages reflection on the meaning of images and on film language.

The adaptations of Gulliver’s Travels being screened are Gulliver’s Travels Among the Lilliputians and the Giants, a short film by Georges Méliès (France, 1902, 4 min); The New Gulliver, a stop motion-animated film by Aleksandr Ptushko (URSS, 1935, 73 min); and Gulliver’s Travels, a musical film by Dave Fleischer (USA, 1939, 76 min).
