Tejina Hearts 2022

Tejina Hearts is an event deeply rooted in popular culture, combining religious, ethnographic and anthropological elements. As usual, it will be held in the last week of August, concurrently with the feast of St Bartholomew.

Tejina Hearts is one of the most striking, colourful celebrations on the island. Locals carry wooden crosses bearing two hearts each – one smaller than the other–, decorated with flowers, fruit and flour cakes. Held for more than a century, it has been designated as an Asset of Cultural Interest.
