European Music Day in the Canary Islands (DEM)

In 2023, the Canary Islands are celebrating European Music Day (DEM) for the eleventh time with a most ambitious initiative: three concerts in three locations, namely, Puerto de la Cruz, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Arrecife.

The event in Puerto de la Cruz is being held at the Santa Bárbara Battery court. It will be a concert by Alien Tango, a UK-based band that merges psychedelia, glam rock, hip hop and a touch of oriental music. They will be accompanied by Tiburona, a band from Madrid whose kitsch aesthetics and Yé-Yé music match their fresh lyrics, which include serious social demands. The line-up will also include Canarian bands like Ya No Te Quiero and Drûpe, as well as the local DJs who make We Are Trash.
