In the context of Mujeres World Fest, the Adeje Auditorium is screening The Yellow Ceiling (El sostre groc), a documentary by award-winning filmmaker Isabel Coixet.
The film deals with the case for sexual abuse filed by nine women in 2018 against two of their teachers at the Lleida Drama School. By the time these women filed their complaint, it was too late: as the crimes were committed between 2001 and 2008, when the victims were teenagers, the case prescribed and was shelved.
The Yellow Ceiling was nominated for Best Documentary at the 2023 Goya Awards, and won the RTVE-Another Look Award at the 2022 San Sebastián International Film Festival and the Gaudí Award for Best Documentary Film in 2023.
