Swan Lake – International Ballet Company

On 16 November, the Infanta Leonor Auditorium is staging Swan Lake, the piece by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (usually in its revival version of 1895 by Marius Petipa) that is considered as the greatest ballet of all time.

Commissioned from Tchaikovsky by the director of the Moscow Imperial Theatres in 1875, Swan Lake was premiered at the Bolshoi Theatre in 1877. The performance at the Infanta Leonor Auditorium will be staged by the International Ballet Company. The first ballet composed by Tchaikovsky, classified as Opus 20 in his production, it is a fairy tale that tells the story of Odette, a princess turned into a swan by an evil sorcerer’s curse.
