The coastal town of Puerto de la Cruz welcomes Christmas every year by turning the Christmas lights on. This official event, held in Plaza de la Iglesia, marks the beginning of the Christmas celebrations in this popular tourist resort.
The centre of town and the various neighbourhoods get decorated with hundreds of light bulbs and ornaments, as the whole area is seized by the Christmas spirit.
