esFADO-Fado Festival of the Canary Islands 2022 – Yamandu Costa and António Zambujo

The Fado Festival of the Canary Islands, also known as esFADO, connects the Canary Islands to Portugal by means of the fado, a Portuguese form of music added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2011. Portugal has left its mark in the Canary Islands, where the Portuguese presence can be felt in the language (vocabulary) and the culture.

This year, esFADO will offer concerts in Tenerife, La Palma and Lanzarote. In Tenerife, the Leal Theatre will welcome Brazilian guitarist and composer Yamandu Costa and Portuguese singer-songwriter António Zambujo, introducing Duas Nações em Harmonia. The concert will bring together two big names associated with the fado on each side of the Atlantic.
