The Museum of Fine Arts is staging the second exhibition that makes Re-sistencia (Re-Sistence), a project by La Palma-born painter Roberto Batista. Following Des-ignación (Des-Ignation), this exhibition, under the title Ex-istencia (Ex-Istence), shows 31 large-format works and a series of watercolours. Batista spent several years working on this project. Ex-istencia includes only a third of all the works.
Batista teaches Painting at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife School of Fine Arts, and Visual Arts Education in high school. His studio is in San Cristóbal de La Laguna. His main themes are the loss of identity, indifference and oblivion.
