Fiesta del humo
This tradition, restored in 2011, recalls and pays tribute to the people from the upper parts of San Juan de la Rambla and neighbouring towns who used the path along the Barranco Ruiz ravine to walk to the festivities in La Rambla in the early 20th century, carrying torches and other burning flames to light up the path by night. Over the years, the walk became an iconic event, especially when the participants reached the town square and extinguished their torches, generating the thick cloud of smoke which gave the fiesta its popular name.
