Fiestas in honour of St Anthony the Great

Various towns hold fiestas in honour of St Anthony the Great, patron saint of farmers and protector of animals. The days are marked by traditional activities, with the most important taking place in Guía de Isora and Los Silos (19-21 January) and Buenavista, which holds its popular “romería” (country fair) and livestock fair on 28 January.
