Fiestas in honour of the Christ of La Laguna

The Fiestas in honour of the Christ of La Laguna take place during the month of September, with the 14th the biggest day. The statue of Christ is taken from its Sanctuary to the Cathedral on 9 September. At around mid-day on the 14th, the statue returns to its home in a procession, with a second procession held on the same night at the convents of the Poor Clares and St Catherine. The return of the statue to the Square is followed by a giant fireworks display. Throughout the month, La Laguna hosts musical, children’s and sporting activities that attract thousands of visitors.
