Holy Christ of La Laguna Festival 2022

In September, San Cristóbal de la Laguna pays tribute to the Holy Christ of La Laguna. Celebrations reach their climax on 14 September, which is a local holiday. On 9 September, there is a procession carrying the Holy Christ from His shrine to the Church of the Cathedral. On 14 September, the Holy Christ goes back to His shrine. This procession is attended by a representative of the King of Spain.

In the evening, another procession visits the nunneries of St Claire and St Catherine. The procession is followed by a firework show in the main square. On the occasion of this religious feast, San Cristóbal de La Laguna organises concerts, children’s activities and sporting events throughout September, drawing thousands of visitors.
