Holy Cross Religious Festival 2023

Puerto de la Cruz is getting ready for a new Holy Cross Festival, this year being held through 3 May. The Festival pays tribute to the Holy Cross – the town’s Patroness – and celebrates the town’s Foundation Day.

The Feast of the Holy Cross involves decking out with flowers all the crosses, shrines and chapels in town – about 200 –, as well as the small private shrines kept in homes.
