St Nicholas’ Festival in El Sauzal 2023

The Association for the District of San Nicolás and the Town of El Sauzal are organising St Nicholas’ Festival, a festival whose nerve centre will be in the square of San Nicolás. The festival programme includes traditional games, a bread-making workshop and an afternoon snack.

The Holy Mass will be at 8pm, featuring the Niño Jesús de la Sierva Children’s Choir. It will be followed by the traditional blessing and distribution of bread. At 9.15pm, the 11^th Bread Tasting Event and Fair will begin, gathering most local bakeries. It will be followed by a traditional event known as “Quema del haragán” (literally, “the burning of the lazy man”) and a convivial meal. To bring the festival to a close, there will be a show by DJ Jorge García.
