Midsummer Night Torch Procession

This celebration dates back to the island’s native Guanche days and takes place on 23 June in Icod de los Vinos. As night falls, bonfires are lit and a procession of burning torches (”hachitos”) makes its way from La Vega to El Amparo, accompanied by dancing to the beat of Tajaraste drums, all in a very festive atmosphere.
