Inauguration of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Carnival

Carnival events get under way formally today in the Tenerife capital and will see a succession of festivals for singing groups and dance troupes, the Junior, Adult and Senior Citizen Carnival Queen competitions, and the satirical singers contests, which all form part of the packed programme for this unique world celebration.
