Quirino Ibero-American Animation Awards 2023

San Cristóbal de La Laguna is playing host to the 2023 Quirino Ibero-American Animation Awards, which this year will have twenty-one finalists from ten countries. The Quirino Awards promote and support the animation industry in Spain, Portugal and Latin America. Winners will be chosen for nine categories: Best Feature Film, Best Short Film, Best Series, Best School Short Film, Best Commissioned Film, Best Animation for Video Game, Best Visual Development, Best Animation Design, and Best Sound Design and Original Music.

Portugal, Argentina and Spain are the three countries with the highest number of finalists, followed by Colombia and Uruguay, with two finalists each, and by Brazil, Chile and Peru, each with one finalist.

The Awards include the 6^th Ibero-American Co-Production and Business Forum, aimed at encouraging the development, circulation and joint production of animation projects in Latin America and the Iberian Peninsula. In five editions, this Forum has become a major meeting point for animation professionals in the region.
