‘Rapsodia española’ (Spanish Rhapsody)

A concert conducted by François Leleux and featuring Latvian pianist, composer and improviser Vestards Šimkus. The performance will include works by Claude Debussy evoking possible bright worlds and pieces by Maurice Ravel paying tribute to the French baroque in the figure of François Couperin and drawing on the composer’s Spanish heritage in the form of a habanera that made the genesis for his Rapsodie.
