Guía de Isora celebrates its 65th annual Country Fair in honour of St Isidore the Farmer. According to the archives, the festivity arose in 1953 following several good tomato harvests in the early 1950s. It has been staged every year since and is one of Tenerife’s longest running country fairs. Its special features include riders who accompany the image of the saint, leading the procession on horseback. Groups of dancers from various parts of the Canaries also take part, including dancers from El Hierro with their flutes and drums.
