St Roch’s Procession and Festival 2023

Every year since the seventeenth century, on 16 August, the people in Garachico pay tribute to St Roch in a popular festival wrapped in a joyful atmosphere. The town’s streets get filled with wagons, cattle herds, musical ensembles known as “rondallas”, groups of merrymakers or “parrandas” and the town music band. They all gather to escort St Roch to his shrine.

In addition, local fishermen take the saint on a vessel parade along the coast. St Roch’s Procession and Festival has been designated as a Feast of National Tourist Interest.
