St Isidore the Farmer’s Procession in Granadilla de Abona 2023

St Isidore the Farmer (or Labourer) has his feast day on 15 May. Every year, Granadilla de Abona organises a procession in his honour. An offering is made to the patron saint in front of the chapel named after him. This tradition has been kept alive for centuries.

The procession takes place after Mass, going from the lower population centre up to the fairground, where everyone joins the street party. The feast of St Isidore in Granadilla de Abona is a blend of centuries-old religious traditions and folk customs.
