In the context of the international performing arts festival MAPAS Fest, the flamenco company led by María Pagés is staging a new flamenco dance show in the Canary Islands whose twelve numbers illustrate the multi-faceted nature of women.
Directed by Seville-born flamenco dancer María Pagés and her creative partner, El Arbi El Harti, the show stars dancers Julia Gimeno, Marta Gálvez, Almudena Roca, Ariana López, Meritxell Rodríguez, Nerea Pinilla, Sofía Suárez and Pagés herself.
Based on the Middle Eastern folk tales told in A Thousand and One Nights and made entirely of group numbers, the show unravels the mysteries associated with the female stereotypes held for centuries to obscure the true nature of women.
