As part of its Holy Week and Easter celebrations, Adeje is staging its traditional Passion of Jesus on Good Friday (7 April) at noon.
It is an open-air re-enactment of Jesus’ suffering prior to and including His crucifixion. It involves the participation of more than 300 local non-professional actors. The performance takes place on Calle Grande in Adeje. The scenes re-enacted include the Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem, the Last Supper, the Prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, the Trial before the Sanhedrin, Jesus before Pilate, Jesus at Herod’s Court, the Crucifixion and the Death of Jesus.
