In the context of the new Clownbaret International Festival (FIC), a show about a difficult issue – the retirement of circus performers – is being staged by Cíclicus at the Guimerá Theatre.
Written by Joan Arqué and directed by Leandro Mendoza, Vetus Venustas introduces three senior performers who have been confined to a room where useless junk is kept. But they refuse to accept the passive role that society imposes on them. In their confinement, they meet younger performers, and together they illustrate generational gaps and differences, teaching us how to accept that life changes and showing how the showbiz community is more pointedly affected by this.
