19th Tenerife International Comic Art and Illustration Convention

In November, Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be the Mecca of comics, courtesy of the 19^th Tenerife International Comic Art and Illustration Convention, to be held at La Recova Art Centre. This year, the in-person event is back, but there will be lots of online activities for those who cannot be there.

Santa Cruz Cómic will gather more than a hundred guest artists, who will take part in activities that include the classic “Draw Your Superhero” – an online drawing competition for local schoolchildren.

In addition, there will be tributes to Spanish illustrators and an exhibition dedicated to the satirical magazine El Jueves, curated by J. L. Martín, showing the most iconic covers, comic characters and cartoons. Illustrators Raquel Gu, Juan Álvarez, Rosa Codina, Mamen Moreu and Pepe Farruqo, whose works will be on display at the exhibition, will all attend the event.
