35th San Miguel de Abona Romería

The 34th San Miguel de Abona Romería (Country Fair) welcomes the ‘pilgrims’ who, every year, make this day the most festive and cheerful of all fiestas and fill the town streets with typical local customs and traditions. The celebrations start at 12.00 at the Church of St Michael the Archangel with a sung mass, followed by the procession from the San Miguel Cooperative (CASMI) featuring floats and folk groups from San Miguel de Abona and neighbouring parts. Hundreds of people take part in the procession, which ends in the Square at St Michael’s Church and is followed by an outdoor dance to band music.
