Ocean Blue Tenerife is devoted to the ecological observation of different species of marine animals and birds. On the trips, users will discover how cetaceans live off the coasts of the Canaries in a protected environment with respect for the many kinds of animals, while they contemplate majestic Mount Teide from a delimited area between the Rasca lighthouse and Punta de Teno. Apart from whales and dolphins, there is also the chance to see turtles and even seabirds.
The boat, which is family-oriented and calm, is designed to accommodate the disabled. It bears the "Barco Azul" flag and is authorised by the Department of Tourism of the Canary Islands Government and the Spanish Ministry of the Environment for the activity of whale-watching. They are also adherents of the Sustainability Charter of the Tenerife Tourism Corporation, which is a guarantee of maximum respect for the habitats of animals and the quality and professionalism of the service they provide.
Whales and dolphins are observed on almost every trip throughout the year, which means that you can see specimens of the resident populations of bottlenose dolphins and short-finned pilot whales. For other species of cetaceans, it will depend on the time of year, since their presence is more seasonal.
You are advised to take with you sun cream, sunglasses and seasickness tablets. A camera is also a good idea, as are binoculars and some warm clothing in case you need to protect yourself from the deep sea breeze.
