Apnea Academy West Europe

Apnea Academy West Europe is the fifth centre in the world of the widely-recognised school of the famous Umberto Pelizzari, a world leader in freediving. Paco González* is the director-instructor at the centre, devoted to making the marvellous sport of freediving more widely known. The academy is located on the island of Tenerife, in the borough of Adeje (to be exact at Caleta de Adeje), a natural setting which is unbeatable in order to be able to enjoy the sea and the best high-performance centre, Tenerife Top Training, very nearby.

Apnea Academy offers technical and professional support to all sportsmen and women who come here to learn, for whom it makes its comprehensive infrastructure available. The staff is made up of sea lovers who introduce people of all ages and types to the water for their enjoyment.

The centre also houses the Municipal School of Aquatic Activities of Adeje, which makes it possible to show school groups how beneficial the practise of aquatic sports is and how important it is to take care of the environment. This they do by means of information talks, swimming-pool activities and boat trips for the smallest children.

Thanks to the location on Tenerife, the spring-like climate is guaranteed throughout the year, with the result that there is no thermocline, which helps a lot when practising freediving, diving, etc. Surrounded by hotels, the centre can offer a wide range of accommodation to its guests.
