Visiting times: Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 1.30 pm
The front bears the coat of arms of Charles V, together with that of Tenerife on one side and the Island's Governor Jerónimo de Sotomayor on the other side.
The public meetings hall features a magnificent coffered ceiling in Canarian Mudejar style. It also houses significant relics such as: the banner branded by the governor Alonso Fernández de Lugo when he conquered Tenerife on behalf of the Castilian Crown.
Also, the Royal Charter of 1510 from Queen Juana "The Mad" of Castile granting La Laguna the title of a city; the coat of arms, which is also the shield of Tenerife; and the Historic Archive, which is one of the most comprehensive on the Canary Islands.
