Much of the knowledge that we have today regarding the Guanche culture comes from studying the numerous archaeological remains discovered on the Island. These discoveries are a valuable part of Tenerife's historic and cultural legacy, and many of them are on display for all to see. The most comprehensive collections are housed in the Museum of Nature and Mankind in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and at the Archaeological Museum in Puerto de la Cruz. In addition to the unique Guanche mummies, some of the most treasured archaeological findings in Tenerife are the Zanata Stone, various pieces of domestic pottery and funerary objects.
