This town belongs to the 18th century, when the area's residents were drawn here by its natural freshwater springs. The town is nestled between the ravines of La Atalaya and Lere or Los Caballos, standing at an altitude of 350 m (1,150 ft). It has been declared a Historical Site and features a number of old 18th and 19th century mansions that are located all in a row. Its architecture and public areas are rich in stonework, with understated façades and other traditional elements that give the municipality its charm.
