The old town hall of Candelaria

This building stands adjacent to the basilica and was built in the 17th century as a temporary place of residence for the Island's governors, which is why it is known as Casa Cabildo (meaning the Council House). Over the years, it has been used as a school, a courthouse, a town hall and, more recently, as an exhibition hall. Prominent on its façade is the Canarian balcony over the Fuente de los Peregrinos fountain.
