St Benedict the Abbot’s Festival and Procession 2022

After a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, St Benedict the Abbot’s Festival and Procession is back in San Cristóbal de la Laguna, to be held in the early days of July. The opening speech has been scheduled to be delivered on 30 June. The Festival’s main events include the Traditional Ball, also known as Baile de Magos, on 8 July, and the Procession, which will be back along the town’s historic streets for its 75^th edition.

St Benedict the Abbot’s Festival and Procession is one of the most popular traditional events in Tenerife. It is deeply rooted in the island’s culture. Designated as a Feast of National Tourist Interest, it is the only Regional Procession in the area. It is joined by men and women wearing folk costumes, singing folk songs and offering traditional foods.
