In the context of the Tenerife Carnival 2022 the Carnival Queen Pageant – the first big event – will take place at the second weekend in June. The pageant will be broadcast live by the main TV networks.
As many as 16 contestants will be entering the pageant, to be hosted by Miguel Ángel Daswani, news director at Televisión Canaria, and by Carmen Alcayde, TV presenter and actress.
After the judges make their choice, the Queen will be crowned by the City Mayor, along with the Princesses. The sceptre, designed by craftsmen Juan Gil, David Sánchez and Rubén Expósito, has been made with gemstones that were part of the gowns worn by Carnival Queens between 1979 and 2020.
